It can be tempting to build yourself your own bike and choosing each components to make your dream bike.
If you’re a real bike geek, just go for it. You’ll learn a lot if it’s your first time, you’ll spend a ton of time (and fun) building it. You’ll get one of a kind bike.
If not, you may want to reconsider your idea for few reasons:
- Full bikes are most of the time cheaper than fully custom bikes.
- You can’t test your bike before you entirely built it
- You’ll need a lot of knowledge, not only on maintenance/building skills but also on theory to make all parts working together
- You’ll need more than just basic repair tools. And some tools you may only use once…
