Beeline App Updates
Here at Beeline our mission is to give people better journeys on two wheels. We made a big step towards doing that back in 2015 when Tom & Mark dreamed up the idea of navigating with a nifty little device they decided to call Beeline Velo.
Since those early days, we’ve come a long way. We are constantly thinking about how to improve and build parts of the Beeline experience that make a significant difference to our customers’ journeys.
Why? Because the better the journey, the more you ride.
That’s exciting for us because we believe that the world would be a much happier and healthier place with more people moving around on two wheels, whether getting from A to B or just for the fun of it.
We’ve been working on setting up a solid process to make sure that we’re listening to the right people at the right time. We’ve set up ways for users to tell us about their experiences with Beeline so that we can identify areas to improve.
You can get involved in this yourself by joining the Beeline Research Group (the BRG for those in the know ). This will give you a direct line for your invaluable tidbits of feedback but also (more importantly) the opportunity to meet some of the brains behind Beeline!

All of the updates you can find below are previous releases either for the Beeline Velo or Moto or the Beeline app. If you’re not sure if you’re on the latest version of the app, check the version of your app on the app store or play store to see if it’s the one that’s mentioned in the updates below. If you’re wondering about the device ‘firmware’, you can check on the settings page of the Beeline app.

Multiple routes and a new look
March 2021 • App update
We’ve been working on this for a while, and as our first major update for some time, we’re absolutely thrilled to get this update out to you all.
Multiple routes
There’s no universal preference that folks have for where they like to ride their bikes, be it motorcycling or cycling. Sure, there’s common themes (nobody enjoys that congested A road/highway), but different activity types, reasons for riding and experience levels means that one route does not fit all.
Our users told us that they wanted better routes, and we recognised that existing route apps also provide poor route options. We know from research into cycling that a major barrier to people with lower confidence is how unsafe the route feels.
Because we care about getting more people on better journeys, Beeline route mode now returns up to 3 routes for any journey.
Cycling: Once you’ve set your destination and any waypoints you’d like to stop at along the way, you’ll be offered up to three different route options in supported countries.
This is as the result of a lot of clever work from the brains at Beeline, inputting road data (speed limits, cycling infrastructure etc.) and our one-of-a-kind user feedback, also known as Beeline Road Ratings. The three different route options are categorised as fast, balanced and quiet routes to your destination. Find out more about it here.
Motorcycling: Once you’ve set your destination and any waypoints you’d like to stop at along the way, you’ll be offered up to three different route options anywhere in the world. We have more work to do to provide even better routes for motorcycling, so stay tuned.
A new look
Our app was well overdue a makeover so we’ve spruced it up a little! All your favourite features are still included but things look a little different now and are hopefully easier to use.
Check out the free app for yourself on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
